"There's nothing in here but fuckim porp pies" is the single sentence in Amis which has made me laugh the most. Call me a philistine, but I think it's just a hilarious phoneticism to emphasise Keith's despair and disgust(has he got his mouth full?). He's doing the robbery as otherwise he's going to get his courting/darting finger broken in lieu of the 'vig' he owes, so the poor man is under some pressure. Amis lapses into phonetic spelling for Keith a few times for comic emphasis. Another good one is 'Yoo Fuckee Nefner'
