The above was Geoff contributing to the 3rd person thread below; a club whose users include Mike Hoolihan, M Thatcher, Jim! & now, apparently, Geoff. Although why he would want to adopt my identity I have no idea...but then again...

Hope you had a good time playing to unpacked houses throughout the Hellenic isles, anyway Geoff. In fact I found your act in The Crying:

'And sure enough, the child, and dog, and a merry old Greek fisherman who had appeared from nowhere with a zither, now all stood in front of phoney-Dodecanese process footage of a seashore at sunset, and the kid sang.'

I'm turning into McCrackers. Jules, you're sounding a little plaintive. The Crying is only a novella (virtually just a long poem, which I found it could be taken as) & is worth it for the prose style & poetic sentence construction alone, which is half - or more - of what is good about MA. If these authors' work didn't appeal to the soul as well as the mind then they wouldn't be worth reading, after all. Better stop there, as McCrackers will only accuse me of more wistful lyricism.
