The second annual Thurber Prize for American Humor went to *The Onion*. Actually The Onion is a newspaper that, I believe, is the most active publication on the web. Their book *Our Dumb Century: 100 Years of Headlines From American's Finest News Source* won the award. It's a coffee-table size paperback book that everyone should own. The Headline that had me blowing Birch Beer out my nose was from 1969:

HOLY SHIT! MAN WALKS ON FUCKING MOON!

(then the sub-headline, in a font reduced to 16 or 18)

NEIL ARMSTRONGS HISTORIC FIRST WORDS: "HOLY LIVING FUCK!"

All of the headlines come compete with story.

This high quality publication has been in existence for about 10 years. And, goddamnit, it's about time it got the recognition it deserves. Even though I have no idea who this Thurber guy is.
