I was nearly at the end of 'Dead Babies' by the time I realised that it was written in the '70's (about the '70's) but set in the '80's. At one point the characters 'wheel in' a VCR which was not terribly 'predictive' and threw me off the scent entirely. Amis may have been satirising the '70's but spot the difference between the things he hates about that decade and the things he hates about the '80's in Money.
