Well that's a shame...no earnest lagers in Tribeca with Brooklyn, pints of Zombie with Jules in Seattle or quadruple expressos somewhere in between with Goochie. Kidman was in The Blue Room, which was based on Schnitzler's La Ronde.
And on the subject of the mid-life crisis (see below)...thinking about it some more, I just don't get it. Why do these young literary flowers go for the mid-lifers? I'm not in my prime any more & do I see the flaxen teen bambis of Zurich swooning at my feet? (No.)
The likes of Lolita & the Dream team are patently the product of a romantic mind stuck in reverse, with no danger of titillating anyone but the abusers who wouldn't read it anyway. And certainly noone but Mandy Smith would have the sense to encourage such behaviour. So why all the fuss?
The real danger is with the Hollywood propagated images confirming that women in their twenties all find Sean Connery unbearable sexy. MA is veering worryingly into the vicinity of this type of world. Does he fancy himself as the new Tom Wolfe? The new Hunter Thompson? Kate Moss watch out. (Ever noticed the similarity?)
