12 is exactly when I was happy until as well...loveless marriage...bachelor in his mid 30s...little involvement in drugs nowadays...interests including sex & tennis...rapier wit & piercing writing style...not enough money. I look forward to a glittering literary career...until I reach 40 & that nasty death thing happens. Yuck.
What is it exactly about ! that is so odious? I think it suggests a hectoring, self-congratulatory, unironic tone. I use it liberally when emailing though, just to make sure the person I am addressing doesn't take my witty asides seriously & hate me/sack me.
Favourite acting Tim:(othy) Hutton - liked him in Beautiful Girls, which didn't turn out to be the kind of thing the title suggested at all.
