I don't get much chance to login to MAD nowadays what with all the gadding around Euroland - but thanks anyway to Gooch McKracken-Trevino for all the snippets which Geoff may not like but which keep me interested.
It's 8pm on friday night & I'm sitting here with my sad G&T watching 'The Good Life' (ironic) & Margo has just said Jerry was being 'naff'. (Originally Victorian backwards-slang for 'fanny' as I remember.) I read in a review of 'Austin Powers II - The Spy Who Shagged Me' that the type of humour it embodied was 'naff', which was equivalent to postmodernism nowadays. Accurate comment I thought, & it certainly seems to coincide with MA's view. Modern life seems to have become cyclical, enabling the liver to observe at a distance rather than live. Or, if you like, we have all become novelists...apart from Geoff & me of course.
This site's just not the same without Aaron coming up with something pithy about Liverpool's Ince sale...anyway, must go...2.4 Children's starting...
