Geoffrey, you don't know enough about me to know what anything would mean to someone like me, but to answer your questions, not anymore, unfortunately yes and yes but you can get it back if you really want to.
The thing about drugs is that they are a great leveller: they make everybody who takes them instantly boring. They make clever people stupid and stupid people amoebic. I include alcohol in this but not cigs, which just make you smell.
As for this your comment that:

Dickens' body of work hasn't been added to in over a hundred years should we stop talking about it?
I'm just posting things I find in the course of my research, it's what researchers do, we find things and then we share them, if you don't like it you don't have to read it. Personally Jarma's links have helped me enormously and I'm just returning the favour to him and anyone else with an academic interest in Amis.

As for Big Mal it would be a little disappointing if he was the lead but I think he's just a secondary character like scozzy in the Info
