It was the equivalent of a doodle. I just wanted to say HI, I hadn't read any Amis lately and gave my gave fingers a little workout, but cheers for the insult anyway, and derivative of what, I'm not saying it's not but i'm interested to know? Do you know any cannabis dealers? Do you realise how fascinatingly vacant their lives are? Do you know what it is to smoke away talent and ambition? 'Every day is the same except for weekends when there are people around.'

O.K I'll keep my doodles to myself in future, It was only the nucleus of an idea, you just keep on discussing a body of work that hasn't been added to recently. Some of us are in places with fresh air exploring new towns. You guys just keep posting things written by other people and links to things written by other people.

Incidentally, Amis' decision to give big Mal a lead role in his next work sounds like a cash in, like a rolling stones tour. Living legends should protect their own myths, not destroy them from within.
