Personally I think that me myself, personally alone with my own personal beliefs agrees. Personally, I do believe myself that NT's stylistic departure was a feckless slap-in-the-face to typical Amis devotees. I personally feel that Amis rushed this effort with business as a primary impetus. The novella, while having its shortcomings, certainly emphasizes Amis' genius in the simple fact that he pulled off a mystery/police/crime/drama with literary implications and usual aplomb. Yeah, Other People trophied his diversity early on, and Time's Arrow should be a ubiquitous teach, but NT--I must say, personally, for me, in my opinion--shows a bravado we (and me personally for myself) as fans come to expect. NT is a painful read, painful for its totality and for its aura of expectation. No need to get angry, just shelve it and thumb through Money for a little levity and linguistic lambada.
That works for me personally.
