Steph. You made me laugh with the constipation comparison in Martin's photo; good one, and so true.
There's a photo of Mrs. Martin Amis 1-numero uno- with her husband (she is taller-but then so is Woody Allen) in May, l995 issue of *Vanity Fair, where else? : The name of the big spread was "FAMOUS AMIS" by Michael Shaynerson.
Mrs. Amis #1 was a very attractive woman: fair, tallish, short blond hair, pretty face- Patrician-looking, but not snobbish. I understand she was from an old (wealthy) Cape Cod family and taught college with her Ph.D. in art-aestheitics-*Before She Met Him* << (a take on one of Julian Barne's titles)
Maybe Jarma is right; maybe Martin is a blond-o-phobic, or as the Man said himself: a philo-semite...or was it Semitophiliac?? I get so confused.
