I've also slapped that comment about the insane being in Canada from "Night Train" on this board but I didn't get any flak (that I remember anyway)...but I guess since I'm in Canada (and can therefore more or less verify it) it's okay! (kind of like how you can't use the word "fag" unless you are gay)
And hey, maybe Amis is ripping off the Simpsons... Bart (in a remedial class speaking to his classmate)): So why are you here? Boy: I was transferred here from Canada, so they think I'm kind of slow, eh.
Sugar, just save yourself the time and go to chapters (or whatever is in vancouver). Just think of it as your way of getting back at some big faceless american corporation that is crushing out little canadian bookstores.
By the way Jules, did you know that Canada was colonized by the Brits as part of a long term plan to get revenge for Yankee insolence? heh! and you thought that the reason more than 90% of Canadians live right near the Can-US border was a wacky coincedence!
